- Proactively contact client leads to recommend appropriate insurance and place coverage.
- Complete applications for new and renewal business and assist account executive as directed.
- Analyze quotes and present proposal to client. Check proposal for accuracy and attach any additional spreadsheets for information to proposal.
- Request policies as required.
- Maintain suspense files on outstanding orders and correspondence. Follow up on all overdue and suspense items.
- Conduct annual coverage reviews to identify and cover additional risk exposures.
- Confer and negotiate with carrier underwriters on behalf of clients to save underwriting cancelations and remarket as necessary.
- Execute account quotes, applications, endorsements, binders, and renewal.
- Proactively contacts clients to gauge satisfaction, address needs, and identify opportunities for enhanced client experience.
- Represent the agency at client meetings, including occasional travel for in-person visits.
- Avoid issues involving potential Errors and Omissions (E&O) and immediately reporting any possible error or omission incident to the General Manager.
Commercial Account Manager
The Commercial Lines Account Manager performs the essential functions of the position, which include aiding Sales Executives and Account Executives and clients with service needs and making changes to existing accounts. Specific service and marketing responsibilities are required in this position. Meets service and sales delivery standards and performs essential functions to the quality and service standards developed by the agency.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides technical support to Sales Executive/Account Executives); specifically in analyzing client needs, coverage forms and quotations.
- Schedules appointments with clients as requested by Sales Executive/ Account Executives).
- Occasionally accompanies Sales Executive/Account Executive on prospect and client meetings as requested by Sales Executive.
- Completes applications in coordination with Sales Executive/ Account Executives); submits applications to eligible and appropriate carriers; follows up to ensure timely receipt of quotations and policies.
- Orders and issues binders, certificates, policies, endorsements and other related items; verifies their accuracy; forwards them to client with appropriate correspondence.
- Determines if direct or agency billing is appropriate and invoices accordingly.
- Prepares summaries of insurance, schedules and proposals for word processing as needed.
- Processes renewals in coordination with Sales Executives/Account Executives) according to agency procedures.
- Reviews audits of policies; verifies accuracy and facilitates corrections, as needed, between client and carrier.
